Who was the Book of Proverbs intended for? Generally, we could say it was intended for all of us. It identifies audiences like the simple, the young, the wise. It is for all who will understand and benefit from these proverbs. The theme or the goal of the Book of Proverbs is to describe and instill wisdom in God’s people. A wisdom that is founded in the fear of the Lord. This 68-page devotion takes you through the Proverbs in 31 days.
Comment: As I mentioned in one of my journals, getting wisdom is active. It is an active pursuit. We must pursue, we must act to get wisdom. Where do we get wisdom? We get wisdom in the Word of God.
Prayer: Father, You tell us in the last verse of this chapter, “He dies for lack of discipline . . .” and we can be led astray. Lord, help us with our discipline, our sexual discipline. Protect my eyes from the lust of the flesh. Open my eyes to the love for my wife. Keep us on a path toward a healthy, faithful, loving marriage.
