Colossians is about Christ. It is one of the Bible’s most Christ-centered books. Christ is exalted as Lord over all creation, even the invisible realm. He secured redemption for His people and enabled us to participate with Him in His death, resurrection, and fullness. Our unity is in Him, the preeminent Christ. We are to press on to maturity in Christ by continuing to battle sin, pursuing holiness in Christ, and learning to live distinctly as Christians. This 14 page devotion takes you through Philippians one chapter a day for four days.
Comment. But then, there is one of those “if’s” in the Scriptures in verse 23, “if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard . . .” . To be reconciled we must continue in the faith, we must be stable and steadfast in our beliefs.
Prayer. Father, we thank You for Colossians 1, that all of You, the fullness of You, came in the body of a man named Jesus Christ. He certainly was Your Son and God in the flesh, the image of You, the invisible God, the fullness of You, dwelling within Him. And through Him, we are reconciled to You because of the cross. Because of His death, burial, and resurrection, we now can say Christ is in us and we have the hope of glory.
