Day by Day Through the Bible: Three Days in 2 Thessalonians - Digital Download
Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians to reassure those terrified by the thought the day of the Lord had come, that it certainly had not. He also addressed some of the lingering issues of his first letter, persecution, and some still refusing to work. The overriding theme of 2 Thessalonians is the second coming of Jesus–much like the first letter. 2 Thessalonians is the only book in the Bible written to correct a misunderstanding of a previous book, 1 Thessalonians. Paul also gives a graphic and frightening view of Jesus’s return and a very clear statement about what makes hell so horrific. Heaven is real, but so is hell. This 12-page devotion takes you through 1 Thessalonians one chapter a day for 3 days.
Comment: How do you shield yourself from the enemy’s attacks, from these delusions, from wicked deception? Paul tells us right here, “. . . love the truth . . .” (v. 10). Believe in the truth. Those who refuse to love the truth are the ones that are going to have a problem.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the Scriptures that remind us the day of the Lord has not yet come; but it will. We thank You for the restrainer, the Holy Spirit, keeping Satan away from his time of proclaiming himself as God. That day will come. If it comes in our day, Lord, may we be strong enough to stand on your truth and not be deceived by the enemy.
