Day by Day Through the Bible: Forty-Eight Days in Ezekiel - Digital Download
Ezekiel spoke to Jews forced from their homeland because they had broken faith with their God. His message was to restore God’s glory to a people who had spurned Him. His message is unrelenting with language that seems hard and offensive. Jeremiah was an older contemporary of Ezekiel. Ezekiel knew of Jeremiah’s messages and actually developed some of his themes, but they probably did not know each other because Ezekiel was in Babylon for five years before he started preaching and Jeremiah was in Jerusalem. Ezekiel was deeply concerned about the holiness of God and with the sin of His people; their behavior which offended a holy God. This 98-page devotion takes you through the forty-eight chapters in Ezekiel one-a-day for forty-eight days.
Comment: Ezekiel was made a watchman. The watchman is responsible to deliver God’s message of warning. He is not responsible for the response of the hearers. Who and where are God’s watchmen today? Are they sounding the trumpet or remaining silent?
Prayer: Father, thank You for this warning against false teaching. It was relevant then; it is relevant in our day. Holy Spirit, protect us from false doctrine, from false teaching. Lead us into truth. Guide and direct our steps to a Bible believing, Bible teaching church. We ask for Your help. We ask for Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, amen.
