Board of Directors
Vicki Bustos, Chaplain. Vicki and Allen met at the Colorado state capitol in 1978. She worked for the Lieutenant Governor and Allen worked for the Colorado state legislature. They attended a Bible study for staff working in the state capitol. Both moved on in their careers, but God reunited them in 2002 when Allen started the Ezra Project. Vicki immediately became the chaplain, providing spiritual support, building a prayer circle, and leading the women’s outreach of the ministry, known as Open Book. She has been the only chaplain because of her spiritual depth, and Godly contributions to the decisions of the Board. She is married to her husband Chuck for over fifty years and resides in Westminster, Colorado.
Jan Bertholf, Marketing and Promotion. Jan is a retired United States Army officer and current real estate agent in Fort Collins, Colorado. Allen and Jan met as Gideons. Jan served in numerous capacities at the Gideon state level, including president. He still serves in various positions for the state Gideons; primarily in marketing and public relations. He provides incredible wisdom to the board from his vast success in the US military, real estate, and tremendous spiritual depth gained for decades of serving Jesus. He is also the “techy” on the Board. Jan is married to JJ for over fifty years.
Bob Kuntz, Finance. Bob owns the biggest commercial paint and wall covering company in the Denver area. He services clients like Ball Arena (home of the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche), hospitals, and popular commercial office buildings across the city. Allen and Bob met as Gideons. Bob has been the state president, and still serves in important leadership roles on the Gideon state cabinet. He is the chairman of the missions committee at Applewood Baptist Church. He offers invaluable experience and knowledge concerning the financial operations of the Ezra Project. Bob and his wife Gwen have married over forty years and reside in Arvada, Colorado.
Terry Huth, Special Events. Terry is Allen’s wife of nearly fifty years. Her gift is hospitality so she oversees all Ezra Project events. She hosted the first meeting of the Ezra Project in her living room in 2002. She adds the personal touch to the Board and the ministry. She also accompanies Allen on nearly all Ezra Project speaking engagements, working the resource table, where she hears valuable feedback on the ministry from the crowds. Terry, like each Board member, engages in Ezra Project products like ADDBIBLE and Day by Day Through the Bible daily, so we are users, not just producers of our ministry resources. Terry and Allen live in Parker, Colorado.
Allen J. Huth, Founder, President, and Chairman of the Board. Allen founded the Ezra Project April 1, 2002. Prior to doing so, he was a partner in a business consulting firm, Vice President of The Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry, and a member of the staff of the Colorado state legislature. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in political science. He joined The Gideons International in 1980 and served in local, state, and international leadership positions, most recently completing a three-year term as international president in 2022. His personal mission statement is to be “A Man of His Word”. Terry and Allen have traveled to over forty-five countries doing ministry for the Lord.
